I Put A Spell On You

Imagine this: flying brooms; objects coming to life; mystical creatures you've only dreamed about becoming real. That was what I experienced yesterday. If you haven't guessed already by the photograph, I went to Hogwarts. More specifically, The Making of Harry Potter Studio. It was magical, to say the least.

(WARNING: Lots of photos ahead. Proceed with caution.)

Before we even got into the attraction, we were shown a short video where Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint talk about what it was like growing up on set. After they said their piece, they went through the Great Hall doors behind them. Then suddenly the screen lifted, and there was THE GREAT HALL DOOR. We all rushed towards the doors, and before we knew it the doors opened and we were in the Great Hall.

Ashley, Brenna, and I wandered through the attraction, looking at all the costumes, sets, props, special affects make-up... everything. We went into the forbidden forrest, and met Buckbeak.

Then we went to Kings Cross Station and saw Harry, Ron, and Hermonie's passenger car. I also grabbed some Fizzing Whizzes (my favorite candy from Honey Dukes) at the station shop. When I bought it, the guy at the register had to check my ID cause I had an american credit card. And he noticed my birthday was coming up, and gave me some free goodies, which was so sweet of him!

Then there was Diagon Alley, which left me in awe.

Once we got outside we quickly grabbed an ice-cream. Not just any ice-cream. It was BUTTERBEER ICE CREAM. After we finished our treat, We saw the Knight Bus, the Covered Bridge, and ventured inside Harry's childhood home on Private Drive. Also, I got to see Ron's car. What a beaut, I must say.

I've loved Harry Potter ever since I was given the fourth book in Fourth Grade, forcing me to read the series (which, I mean, wasn't really a punishment. I love to read so I didn't mind). I was Hermione one year for Halloween, I rescued -- or as I like to say, "adopted" -- another fourth book from being tossed out by my elementary library, I'm even sorted into a house, (go Hufflepuffs!), know my Patronus (Tonkinese Cat), and my own wand (Hawthorn wood with a Unicorn hair, core 14 ½" and Slightly Yielding flexibility). It was a childhood dream come true to see all the Harry Potter treasures, as well as made the film kid inside giddy to see how this magical film series was made.

Mischief Managed.

-Syd.
