First week of courses came and went. And to be completely honest, they all sound super interesting.

I'm taking The Modern Vampire, Myths & Mythology, and Hidden London once a week on Mondays and Wednesdays. They're super cool. In my Vampire class, we read literature, and watch TV shows and films (for example: we watched an episode of The X Files and the film Byzantium). And for my Hidden London course, we go on excursions into the city, walking in the footsteps of famous authors and characters (coming soon). The rest of the week I have to myself, and it's strange not being in class. Back at Chapman, I usually take five courses, and they're either twice or three times a week. I'm not used to all this extra time. But I hope to make the most of it.

Finally the weekend rolled around, and my friends and I took a boat cruise on the Thames from Central London to Greenwich. And man, it was beautiful. We walked through Greenwich University, which, fun fact, was the set for Les Miserables.

We then strolled through the park (I haven't seen fall in so long that I couldn't help myself from kicking through the leaves) and climbed a steep hill towards the Observatory. There was so much color, compared to Californian landscape I was used to.

The Observatory was also very cool. On top of one of the buildings, theres a red ball, that drops at exactly 1PM every day to signal the time to ships and Londoners.

Also, I got to stand on the meridian line -- a dividing line between the western and eastern hemispheres. And they said you couldn't be in two places at once. Psh. (also, check it out, theres my name! I'm famous)

The rest of the day, we explored. We went into a couple shops and street markets that were selling food, homemade goods, and anything antique or vintage. I bought two pins: Beatrix Potter's Tom Kitten and Mr. Jeremy Fisher -- for a grand total of one pound.

Once we were all tuckered out, my friends and I made the long journey back home by tube and rail. We may have gotten lost a couple times, but I think we did it.
